Nesting.com (beta) is an online community where parents (Moms particularly) can organize and connect aspects of their family’s daily life.

“Nesting.com is more than a social networking site – it’s a personal assistant that helps you keep on top of every detail of your busy family life. Our innovative tools are fully customizable, and tasks that used to take days now only take minutes. Most social networking sites are primarily about meeting new people. But we know that parents are busy, and it’s more important for them to stay connected with their existing social network of people that are already in their lives, rather than create an entirely new group of people that they need to keep in touch with.” [Nesting.com]

The free service is similar in concept with Pageflakes and iGoogle.

Commuto.com (beta) is a service that lets you swap and trade stuff with others in your community.

“Whether you are in school, college or at the work-place, or any other community for that matter, Commuto offers you a unique, secure and social way of trading your old stuff for new stuff without ever having to wait for shipping or incur any costs ever again.” [commuto]

Registering with the service, you create a user profile where you add the items you want to trade, and list all the things you are interested in. You then choose a community (school, college, work place, or create your own), so that you could trade with people accessible to you. Commuto then finds matches for your trades.

BeenUp2.com is a fun and easy photo / video / trip sharing site with a focus on conversations and community.

“BeenUp2 lets you keep in touch with friends and loved ones no matter where they are in the world. With photos that post in seconds from your cell phone you can let others follow you throughout your day in real-time. This just may be the most entertaining site you ever use, and it’s free!” [BeenUp2]

The service is similar to Twitter in concept, but uses photos, videos, and trips (places) instead of words (or 140 characters).
