Dropcard (mydropcard.com) is an online service that helps eliminate the need for paper business cards.

“When you meet someone, text us their email, and we’ll send them the information you wanted. We deliver by email, so it’s saved in their inbox. … If you can send a text message, you can use Dropcard.” [dropcard]

Aside from using text messaging, you can make a Dropcard via your iPhone, or the web.

Dogpile.com is a metasearch engine that puts Google, Yahoo!, Live Search, and Ask to work as one for your searching needs.

“If you had a choice between a single-person search party, or a search team of half-a-dozen, which would you choose? Yep, us too. Why not put six search engines to work on something in the same time it takes to use one? This is what we call metasearch. Dogpile puts the power all the leading search engines together in one search box to deliver the best combined results. The process is more efficient and yields more relevant results. ” [Dogpile]

If you like, you can *optionally* download their browser toolbar, but I’d suggest skipping the toolbar and just go to the URI. (Not a big fan of toolbar add-ons.)

URL-info.appspot.com is an online tool that lets you get the data from header files produced by the web servers.

“URLinfo is a tool for handling web pages: finding information about it, finding headers, internal and external links, etc. To use it, type a URL (web page address) into the box in the top frame.” [URL-info]

By entering a web address, the service returns information about:

  • Page – HTTP status, URL scheme specifier, web analytics, etc.
  • HTTP Headers – Last modified, cache control, server, pingback, etc.
  • Images
  • Links – internal and external

And you also are provided with a Flash analog clock (upper right hand side). A nice bonus while you read the info about your chosen address.
